Chikungunya is a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes. This test checks for the presence of IgM antibodies produced in response to chikungunya viral infection at the earliest. The presence of IgM antibodies indicates a recent infection (less than 5 days). Chikungunya virus spreads through infected mosquitoes. Its symptoms include fever, joint pain, rashes and headache.
